Following are some of the disclaimers that needs to be considered while reading this report:
Budget
The country snapshots provide information on estimated budget required for each country. The numbers shared are only ball-park figures based on certain assumptions and standard budgeting principals designed for the purpose of this report and to provide a guiding principles and typical budgeting components. The countries should independently evaluate their resource needs and budget accurately based on the current maturity and e-readiness of the current digital platforms, country’s IT capacity and current funding availability. We request countries to come up with a detailed budget plan for developing and scaling-up a comprehensive digital TB surveillance and reporting system.
Recommendation:
GF SI for Data: Data Generation and Use for Action and Program Improvement aims to improve monitoring and evaluation systems in countries, collection, collation, analysis and use of such data for decision-making and quality improvement. Stop TB Partnership (STBP) and WHO are implementers of this SI. As part of the first phase of this SI, STBP assess and report country status on availability, readiness and requirements for real-time case based TB surveillance system for TB in the 20 TB SI countries in consultations with NTPs/MOHs & in-country stakeholders, WHO and other relevant technical partners. This assessment will be followed with necessary facilitation for transition to digital real-time case based TB surveillance systems in the TB SI countries.
As many of the countries vision and advancement in digital transformation are constantly evolving based on different programmatic and pollical needs, the assessment report should be a living documentation which should be periodically and incrementally revised by countries once in 6 months to benefit most from this report.
